The Low Profile Lid is made of anodized aluminum and is screwed on and off of the grid box with a hex key/allen wrench.  The low thickness of the lid means you can stack 2 grid boxes and lids in 1 pocket of a cryoEM grid storage puck, doubling your storage capacity. The anodized aluminum is highly robust, and is less susceptible to static electricity than plastic lids.
