Ice particulate can contaminate cryoEM grids as they sit in open grid box pockets during the vitrification, clipping and loading processes. The Anti-Contamination Grid Box has a lid for each individual pocket that can seal it off from contamination in the workstation while other samples from the grid box are being processed. The 4 magnetic lids for the 4 pockets come with the box, and all sit below the surface of the box, such that any pin lid (metal or plastic) or low profile lid can be used with the grid box. All 4 pockets are compatible with either an unclipped grid or an autogrid. 
 
A magnetic lid tool is available to make removal and placement of the individual pocket lids easy, as well as a grid box ring for sample preparation in the Vitrobot, such that the box is held firmly in place (by a pin lid) for magnetic lid placement and removal.
